Sound Bath FAQ’s
Q: What is a sound bath?
A sound bath is a meditative, deeply relaxing experience where you're “bathed” in sound frequencies from instruments like crystal singing bowls, chimes, and ocean drums. These vibrations help shift your brainwaves into calming states—like theta and delta—where healing, clarity, and restoration naturally occur.
Q: Do I need to know how to meditate?
Not at all. Sound baths do the heavy lifting for your nervous system. Just lie down, get comfy, and receive. You can let your thoughts wander or drift into sleep—both are perfectly normal.
Q: What do I bring to a sound bath?
Nothing to the studio. We provide a chair/mattress, blanket, pillow, leg bolster and lavender eye pillow. For all outdoor sound baths, please bring your own yoga mat, blanket, pillow and eye mask for maximum comfort.
Q: Can I fall asleep during a sound bath?
Yes. And it’s welcome. Falling asleep is often a sign your body feels safe enough to deeply rest. Many people say they feel better rested after a sound bath than after a nap.
Q: What are the bowls made of?
I use Alchemy Crystal Singing Bowls by Crystal Tones—made of 99.99% pure quartz infused with precious minerals and metals like platinum, palladium, rose quartz, aqua aura gold, and more. Each bowl is intentionally tuned and carries specific emotional and energetic qualities.
Q: What are the benefits of sound healing?
People report better sleep, reduced anxiety, emotional release, clarity, nervous system reset, and a deep sense of peace. My practice often supports grief healing, fertility, midlife transitions, and nervous system regulation.
Q: What makes this different from a regular meditation class or yoga session?
Sound bypasses the mind. You don’t have to try to relax or focus on your breath. The vibrations guide your body into a parasympathetic state naturally. It’s like meditation for people who think too much.
Q: Is it safe during pregnancy?
Yes, but always check with your care provider. I’ve had many expectant mothers attend, especially in their second and third trimesters, and they often feel more connected to their baby and calm afterward.
Q: Can kids come?
My studio sessions are designed for adults and teens over 16. Private sound baths can be tailored to include children, depending on the group’s needs and the child's ability to relax quietly during the experience.
Q: How often should I do a sound bath?
Weekly is wonderful, but even monthly can have lasting effects. I offer group sound baths five times a week and private 1:1 or party sessions by request, so you can build a rhythm that works for you.
Q: What happens after a sound bath?
You might feel blissful, sleepy, energized, emotional, or deeply grounded. I recommend hydrating, resting, or journaling afterward. Integration can look different each time, but trust your body—it knows what it’s doing.
Q: Who leads the sound baths at Lotus Moon?
I do! I’m Jennings Pellegrino, founder of Lotus Moon Sound Spa. I’m a sound healer, photographer, entrepreneur, and mom. My journey into sound healing began after deep personal loss, a psychic reading, and a spontaneous moment of “Fine. I’ll just do it myself.” Now I hold sacred space for others navigating fertility, grief, midlife, and rebirth.
Q: What makes your sound baths unique?
I don’t just play bowls—I guide you into a theta state using specific intervals and intention. I only speak briefly at the beginning, letting the bowls do the real work. I swirl counterclockwise to release energy, clockwise to invite in light. Many guests describe my sound baths as deeply emotional, hypnotic, and transformational.
Q: What are the different types of sound baths you offer?
Indoor Studio Sound Baths – Cozy, candlelit sessions in my Thousand Oaks studio for up to 7 guests plus virtual
Outdoor Shinrin Yoku Sound Baths – Under the stars with fire release, intention bracelets and cacao ceremony
Outdoor Floating Sound Baths – You’ll literally float in a personal, inflatable boat while I play on the deck nearby
Private Sessions (1:1 or Couples) – Custom healing journeys, fertility support, grief release
Private Group Events – Bachelorette parties, retreats, healing circles
Q: What’s a floating sound bath?
Imagine drifting in a heated pool at sunset while being surrounded by sacred sound. That’s a floating sound bath. I offer them every Sunday night at rotating backyard pools and on Thursdays at rotating private homes.
Q: What bowls do you use in your practice?
Each one has a story. Some were chosen by a psychic Crystal Tones brand partner. Some were funded by wild miracles.
Q: Do you talk during the sound bath?
Only at the beginning. I open with three Tibetan bell chimes and a few intentional words while playing the Aqua Aura Gold bowl. Then I let the bowls take over. My goal is to create a silent, spacious journey—not a guided meditation.
Q: Do you offer sound baths over Zoom?
Yes. My 1:1 sessions and indoor studio group sound baths are available worldwide. I use high-quality mics and streaming tools so you can receive a full-bodied experience wherever you are.
Q: How many people can attend your group sound baths?
My studio holds up to 7 guests per session, creating a boutique, intimate feel. Floating sound baths vary, but I cap them at 14 max for quality.
Q: What’s your pricing?
Indoor Group Sound Bath: $55
3-for-$99 Intro Pack (expires in 3 months)
Outdoor Shinrin Yoku Sound Bath: $333 per person
Private Sound Bath: $222

Q: What if I’m navigating fertility struggles, grief, or trauma?
You are welcome here. I specialize in holding space for these themes, using both sound and silence to help you reconnect with your own inner guidance. You don’t have to explain or perform. Just show up. The bowls will meet you.t.
